Villa Do' Luisa is a charming historic estate, now home to a renowned Italian wedding venue,
located in the heart of Sicily,
only half hour drive from the magnificent Valley of Temples,
an archaeological site and one of the main attractions in Sicily.
It was already known to be a farmhouse at the beginning of the 17th century,
when the Moncadas moved to Sicily from King of Spain's court.
It takes its name from one of the former owners,
the noble family that once owned it, Donna Luisa.
It has now been home to the Augello family since 1973,
who have renovated the villa and its magnificent gardens,
surrounded by over 70 hectares of wheat fields and olive groves.
The estate features an astonishing courtyard, where you can have your welcome drinks,
oyster bar, caviar blinis and numerous other canapés, freshly prepared in front of you
in typical Italian style "Angoli del gusto", or Aperitivo corners.
This is, in fact, the most popular Italian tradition of starting a party,
or a wedding reception in a more informal way: the Italian equivalent "happy hour".
It gets your guests relaxing and mingling over prosecco,
signature cocktails complemented by the most mouthwatering nibbles.
As soon as you enter the estate, you know this place has a charm of its own.
You are welcomed by a spectacular driveway,
enveloped by olive trees, meeting halfway to form an arch,
almost like a long gallery, where at the end of it,
the beautiful gardens are revealed in all its magnificence.
This Italian wedding venue is an enchanting historic home combined with a modern twist:
its beautiful architecture and its garden design
make this private villa a picturesque backdrop for a fairytale wedding.
It's available for exclusive dry hire: this means the venue,
its grounds, gardens and the internal areas
are for your exclusive use on the day of your wedding.
Villa Do' Luisa uses only one trusted catering company, La Torre:
even though this could sound limiting, I can assure you
they are the most famous catering company in the south of Italy for a reason.
La Torre has provided its service to celebrities,
High State figures and D&G Alta Gioielleria dinner,
hosted after their open-air catwalks held in Sicily in the Summer of 2019.
Villa Do' Luisa has numerous outdoor areas, all looked after in a meticulous way.
They all can be used for different moments of your wedding:
~ an equipped pine tree park, that can be used to enjoy your starters,
prepared in elegant cabanas-like antipasti stations
for "live show cooking", that is surely going to impress your guests;
~ a breathtaking Mediterranean landscape, featuring green lawns,
palm trees, succulents and ornamental flowers , for a romantic Summer wedding ceremony,
from where you can admire the stunning Sicilian countryside.
Nearby you can find the outdoor dining area,
which looks spectacular under the evening fairy lights;
~ a sunken stone-courtyard, surrounded by lemon trees and connected to the bar area,
usually assigned for cake cutting and the generous desserts buffet,
which include the traditional Sicilian cannoli;
~ an outdoor pool embraced by colourful flowers and exotic trees,
creating an enchanting environment in summer evenings .
The main dining area is an absolute dream and it can host up to 250 people.
It features wooden ceilings, an intricate architecture,
complemented by delicate wall colours, that reveal some detailed stone work underneath.
It's connected to several other rooms, recently renovated,
that can be used for different elements of the day.
Its elegance and creates a magnificent atmosphere for your wedding reception.
The finely furnished period lounge presents its exquisite staircase,
where brides can take some lovely photos,
walls frescoes and another access to the pool area.
It's adjacent to lounge areas, used by many couples
for the after party or as a plan B to serve starters in case case of rain day.
As you have the whole estate for your day, you have a wide choice
of locations between outdoors and indoors spaces.
Should you decide to move your party or dinner indoors there are several options
for each moment of your celebrations and definitely
a superb option for a rain plan, or for a winter wedding.
You can host your symbolic ceremony at Villa Do' Luisa,
with a celebrant arranged by you or your wedding planner.
Your guests would arrive at your wedding ceremony from the driveway,
through the garden pathway leading to the courtyard front,
enclosed by the exotic garden settings.
After your ceremony your guests can relax in the lounge,
watching the sun goes down in the most authentic dolce vita style,
drinking bubbles and nibbling until dinner time.
If you're getting married in the summer,
I strongly suggest you to have both your welcome drinks and dinner reception outdoors,
between the elegantly equipped pine tree area, the courtyard lawns,
enjoying being embraced by the impressive Mediterranean landscape.
There are allocated areas for a band
to play live sets throughout your celebration.
There is no overnight accommodation at Villa Do' Luisa,
but they offer a room to the newlyweds on the night of your wedding.
This room can be also used by the bride,
arriving ahead of the ceremony, to finish her preparation.
You and your guests can easily find hotels
or some lovely villas to rent nearby the location.
